The New Hampshire State Council on the Arts is reminding arts organizations, schools, school districts and school administrative units that the deadline to apply for Youth Arts Project Grants is April 1.
Youth Arts Project Grants fund arts and cultural education programs that encourage creativity and foster academic success in grades K-12. The goal of this grant category is to provide young people opportunities to engage in the arts beyond the normal school day so that they can develop creative problem solving skills and become more engaged in their communities. The April 1 deadline is for projects taking place between July 1, 2011, and June 30, 2012.
Partnerships between schools, arts organizations and community organizations that provide high-quality arts learning experiences for youth in underserved communities around the state are encouraged.
To qualify for a Youth Arts Project grant, programs must be equally matched with funds or other contributions from another source.
For more information about applying for a Youth Arts Project Grant, contact Catherine O'Brian, New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, at 271-0795 or catherine.r.obrian@dcr.nh.gov.
