Dog licensing

It's that time of year again – dog licensing.

Beginning April 1, in accordance with RSA 466:1, dogs 4 months old or older shall be licensed annually. Licenses are issued in the city clerk's office. Before a license is issued, the owner or keeper of the dog shall provide a current rabies certificate, if one is not on file with the city clerk.

The licensing fees are: $10 for non-spayed or non-neutered dogs; $7.50 for spayed or neutered dogs; $7.50 for dogs under 4 months old; $2 for the first dog for owners age 65 and over (regular fee for any additional dogs); $20 for five or more dogs of the same owner.

If you licensed a dog in Concord last year and have relocated outside of Concord or Penacook or no longer have your dog, please contact the city clerk's Office by phone at 225-8500 or via e-mail at cityclerk@concordnh.gov so that we may update our records. The city clerk's office is located at 41 Green St. in Concord. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Remember, every year our dog(s) look forward to receiving their new “jewelry” which by the way is a lovely red heart that compliments most fur and collar colors.
