Lots of things are happening at Concord TV these days. For starters, we’ve selected not just one, but three programs of interest for the “Pick of the week,” happening on all three of the Concord TV channels.
On Concord TV’s Education Channel 6, watch Concord High School’s talented teens perform in the school’s “Battle of the Bands,” airing Sunday, Feb. 15, to Saturday, Feb. 21, at 6 p.m.
On the Government Channel 17, tune in to see the Concord Chamber of Commerce’s presentation of the “State of the City” address, if you weren’t able to attend the event in person. Watch it Sunday, Feb. 15, at 6 p.m. to Saturday, Feb. 21.
And last, but absolutely not least, on the Public Channel 22, Friday, Feb. 20, at 10:30 p.m., check out The Chip Smith Project, a band that performed in the Spotlight Café at the Capitol Center for the Arts.
Calling all artists! Concord TV is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this year, and will present its fifth annual Arts Telefest, which will air live on Sunday, March 29, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., on local cable Channels 22 and 6. This year’s Telefest theme is “Capturing Our Creative Concord,” which is in keeping with the efforts of city leaders in developing a creative economy plan.
Twenty-six area arts organizations and nearly 100 artists in all mediums were represented during last year’s event. This year’s list of participating artists is growing and will be announced soon. Artists and arts organizations that want to be a part of this event should contact Doris Ballard at 226-8872.
The Arts Telefest is also an annual fundraiser for the TV station, raising donations through sponsorships and inpidual supporters that help Concord TV to continue providing local programming and projects that highlight the many wonderful nonprofit and arts organizations in Concord; produce workshops and youth video camps; offer college internships; and provide valuable hands-on experience in television production to people of all ages. Information on sponsorships can be found on the Concord TV website at yourconcordtv.org, or by calling Julienne Turner at 226-8872.
