For our Insider's Guide to Concord we asked readers to send us what they liked about our beloved city. Wendy Woodman wrote us this awesome e-mail, but we weren't able to get it in last week's issue, so here it is now!
Here are a few of the things that I like about Concord:
It has a great small town feel. Everyone is so friendly. Generally, no matter where you go, you see someone you know.
It's only an hour's drive to Boston, the beach and the mountains.
The quarries – I love to ride my mountain bike or go hiking there. It feels as though I'm in the middle of nowhere and yet I'm in the middle of the city. I've seen deer up there and a fox even ran right in front of my path one day. There are a lot of great views up there and it is a peaceful place to be.
I love Memorial Field. It's a great place to watch different events and to work out.
Among the many businesses that I feel Concord is lucky to have are Vinnie's Pizzeria, Arnie's, Yellow Submarine and Granite State Candy (woo hoo)! I tell people that I've started running every day – running to Granite State Candy.
Of course, Concord is really blessed to have the Insider. We would be a very boring city without this funny paper.
