The Strawberry Jamboree held at Canterbury Shaker Village, 288 Shaker Road, Canterbury, on June 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., will feature a “Strawberry Jam” from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., an open mic music jam led by TJ Wheeler and featuring Patrick “Hatrack” Gallagher.
Bakers and chefs are invited to participate in the event's Strawberry Bake-Off, held from 1 to 4 p.m. In both professional and home-chef pisions, culinary creatives may bring a prepared strawberry recipe. The recipe may be a dessert, other baked good or miscellaneous. Entries will be judged by taste, appearance and originality. Entries must be able to sit out without refrigeration for several hours without melting or spoiling.
Visitors to the village for the jamboree will be the judges. Contestants must bring samples for the public by 11:30 a.m The judging will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Prizes will be awarded at 3:30 p.m.
