Who needs some extra love? Nongame and endangered animals do

If you care about threatened wildlife and habitat in New Hampshire, make a difference this spring by contributing to the Nongame and Endangered Wildlife Program's 2009 annual fund campaign. Donations made by June 30 will help the program qualify for a critical funding grant of $50,000 from the state, as well as helping to meet the required state share of a federal matching grant.

Nongame Program efforts to coordinate new research, monitor species at risk and manage critical habitats have all led to many successes over the past two decades, including the return of bald eagles, ospreys, terns and Karner blue butterflies to New Hampshire.

To contribute to the fund, send donations to: Nongame and Endangered Wildlife Program, N.H. Fish and Game, 11 Hazen Drive, Concord, NH 03301. A print-and-mail donation form is available at wildnh.com.

Donors who give $35 or more will receive the new “Hawks of N.H.” and “Salamanders of N.H.” field identification cards.
