Registration is open for “Maps and Journeys: Perspectives on the Future of Arts Education in New Hampshire,” the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts' statewide Arts in Education Partnership Conference, taking place Oct. 30 to Nov. 1 at the AMC Highland Center at Crawford Notch.
Keynote speakers are James and Maureen Tusty, co-directors and producers of “The Singing Revolution.” James's talk, “How an Art Form Defeated an Army,” will be held on Oct. 31 at 9 a.m. Guest artist-in-residence Julie Lyonn Lieberman will speak on “The Power of Creativity.” Bob Morrison of Quadrant Education Research will present findings from the Arts Education Data Project.
The conference is open to anyone interested. Workshops and keynote addresses will focus on the multiple ways the arts develop essential skills such as creativity, imagination, leadership, perseverance, team building and problem-solving.
