A big thank you goes out to Concord Rotarians Betsy Baron and Paul and Diane Cantin along with Rotary Club of Concord's two Interact Clubs for their participation in this year's FunFest at the Merrimack County Nursing Home on Oct. 31.
For 15 years in a row, the nine Rotary Clubs of Merrimack County have come together with the recreation staff of the county home to produce FunFest – a day of fun and entertainment for the nursing home residents.
At the event there were 18 game stations in the center courtyard. Residents decorated their own orange bags to hold their winning loot, as each game had prizes for all. The Interactors made sure that everyone was a winner. A special group thanks to Rotarian Jo Ellen Divoll, superintendent of the Franklin School District, for her work in organizing the Interact students.
Transportation for the residents unable to get from one of the three patient floors was provided by Rotarians who stayed with their charges through their visit to the games. Entertainment for residents who were unable or unwilling to travel was provided in three dayrooms. Two professional singers and a keyboardist/harmonica player entertained.
Judging from the comments from the residents, staff, Interactors and Rotarians, the 15th annual FunFest was a resounding success.
