The Concord community gathered on Dec. 5 for the Concord Family YMCA's 21st annual Snowflake Ball to support the 2009-10 Kids Campaign fund. Our guests enjoyed dancing under a starlit canopy to the music of Club Soda, delicious hors d'oeuevres and dinner provided by Chef Scott Ouelette of the Magic Foods and Restaurant Group. All guests received a complimentary photo provided by Concord Camera.
This sold-out event raised $27,000. All proceeds allow us to provide financial assistance to low-income inpiduals, families, children and seniors in order for them to participate in our programs and services. It enables us to fulfill our mission of never turning anyone away due to their inability to pay.
The YMCA wants to thank all the volunteers and staff who gave their time decorating and setting up the gym. A special thanks to the Snowflake Ball committee members who worked on the logistics and whose creative talents transformed a gymnasium into an elegant ballroom. The committee included Jen Bennett, Gina Brochu, Matt Bolton, Melissa Detwiller, Jen Devanny, Eileen Demers, Lynne Ford, John King, Anne LaForce, Paul Leighton, Loren McCabe, Diane Raimo, Kate Russo, Carolyn Thomson, CherylAnne Williams, Vinnie Samson and Susan Sokul. Also, thanks to the table hosts and all 260 attendees.
Thank you to all who donated items for our raffle. Congratulations to our raffle winners, Paul and Debbi Kinson, who won a two-night stay at Lake Opechee Inn and Spa and dinner for two at O Steak and Seafood; Margaret and Carmine Tomas, who won four season ski passes to Pats Peak Ski Area; and Scott Daniels, who won two Celtic tickets, four UNH hockey tickets and four Monarch hockey tickets.
We are fortunate every year to receive financial support from our community through corporate sponsorships. This year we were pleased to have Merrimack County Savings Bank for the second year as our host of the evening and “Hero” sponsor for the year. Our “Champion” sponsor this year was The Rowley Agency. We also want to thank our “Community Partner” sponsors: Affiliates in Podiatry PC; Charter Trust Co.; Hinckley, Allen, Snyder LLP; Jaguar Mining Inc.; Magic Foods and Restaurant Group; McLane Law Offices; Nathan Wechsler & Company; Northeast Delta Dental; Pat's Peak Ski Area; and Quality Orthopaedics Care PC.
Thanks to all of you for your generous support of the Kids Campaign and making it possible for the Concord Family YMCA to continue to serve our community to meet the needs and wellness of all.
