The annual Wheelchair Basketball Benefit for the Zech DeVits Memorial Equipment Fund at NHTI raises money to help provide assistive technology to students with disabilities. DeVits, who was born with gigantism and skeletal dysplasia and required a wheelchair from an early age, died in 2005 at 22 years old, just weeks before graduating from NHTI. As for the 12th annual game on Thursday, the NHTI All-Stars narrowly defeated the Capital Wheelers, 20-18.
