It’s that time of year again – Summer Reading returns to Concord! This year’s theme is a “Universe of Stories,” and Concord Public Library has much in store for readers of all ages.

For kids through age 12, every week there will be a new Bingo card full of reading and activity challenges – readers who complete eight of the challenges on each card will win prizes along with the chance to win a grand prize. For adults and teens, Bookopoly is back! Readers receive a Bookopoly board with various reading and activity challenges. The more you read, the more you can win!

Be sure to join in on all of the Universe of Stories events taking place all summer long. Enjoy a different space-related activity in the Children’s Room each week, such as Alien Invasion drop-in crafts on June 25 at 2 p.m. and a Jedi Training Camp on Aug. 2 at 1 p.m. For the adults, enjoy a competitive evening of Beat the Librarians Trivia Night: Summer Reading Edition at Lithermans Limited on July 18 at 7 p.m. In addition, Concord Public Library, Concord Parks & Rec and Bow’s Baker Free Library are offering a free movie at Rollins Park on Aug. 8 at sundown. Bring the whole family to enjoy a screening of Apollo 13 with complimentary snacks and beverages!

On Wednesday, June 19, join CPL for a Summer Reading Kick-Off  Party at the library starting at 6 p.m. There will be STEAM activities (stomp rockets!), crafts, games, and lots of snacks — like space ice cream, Tang and moon pies!  This is an all-ages event.

Registration for Summer Reading began on Monday. To sign up, visit the Concord Public Library or any of its branches, stop by the Kick-Off Star Party, or visit us on the State House Lawn during Market Days. Adults and teens may register for Bookopoly online at concordpubliclibrary.net/registration. Join us as we blast off this summer!

To find out more about all things Summer Reading, visit the library’s website at concordpubliclibrary.net or contact the library at library@concordnh.gov or 225-8670.
