The town of Tilton is adorned with many statues, purchased by Charles Tilton, the defacto father of the town. Tilton was the wealthiest resident in town back in the 1800s, a fourth-generation descendant of the town’s original settler, and he wanted his town to be among the most beautiful in the country. Apart from all the statues, Tilton also built the Tilton Memorial Arch and revamped the Tilton Island Park, among other things. JON BODELL / Insider staff
