The Mcauliffe-Shepard Discover Center invites visitors of all ages to fall in love with math as they welcome their newest exhibit, Math Moves. The exhibition opens Saturday, and will challenge visitors to work together in a playful, full-body exploration of ratios, proportions and other fundamental math concepts.
Math Moves uses a variety of hands-on activities to make experimenting with concepts at the heart of math memorable and fun. It encourages visitors to use their minds, their bodies and their imaginations to investigate basic math ideas to find their meaning and relevance. It also draws upon the power of teamwork, using partner activity and conversation to advance mathematical understanding.
Admission to the Discovery Center is $11.50 for adults, $10.50 for students and seniors, $8.50 for children ages 3 to 12, and free for members and children ages 0 to 2. Planetarium shows are an additional $5 (free for members and children ages 0 to 2).
The Discovery Center will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday .
