The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce’s Concord Young Professionals Network (CYPN) introduces you to our “Young Professionals of the Month,” Michael and Ryan Hvizda. Each month the CYPN Steering Committee recommends young professionals in the community it thinks Insider readers would enjoy getting to know better.
Michael Hvizda
How old are you? 37
Where do you live? Washington Street in Concord. We love living in such a walkable town!
Where do you currently work? I wear a few hats. I am co-owner and founder of The Hvizda Team, which is a group of highly talented realtors and business executives who are passionate about assisting our clients buy, sell and invest in real estate. Day-to-day, I am the CEO of Keller Williams Realty – Success in Andover, Mass., a firm of more than 150 real estate professionals. And Ryan and I also have a partnership with a real estate group based in Barbados and serving the southern Caribbean.
How did you find out about Concord Young Professionals Network? We joined the Chamber when we launched our real estate business on Main Street, and from there we were led to CYPN.
Tell us a few interesting facts about yourself: I am an avid skier and surfer. I used to spend my winters skiing in Lake Tahoe, Calif., or surfing in Costa Rica and Puerto Rico, and my summers working on ice cream trucks. When I was 20 years old I drove an ice cream truck for the summer. To make a long story short, I was the top producer for three summers in a row, and was then asked to build an office for the company. I started with eight trucks and grew it to 18 trucks. The manager who gave me my first chance had transitioned into real estate and after watching him for a few years I followed suit.
Last book you’ve read? I love what Simon Sinek has to say. Leaders Eat Last and Start with Why. I am really enjoying The Snowball by Alice Schroeder right now.
What’s your favorite restaurant in Concord? Whiskey & Wine at the moment. You will probably see me at Dos Amigos Burritos more often though.
Ryan Hvizda
How old are you? 36
Where do you live? Downtown Concord.
Where do you currently work? I am both co-owner and realtor of The Hvizda Team. We serve all of New Hampshire and are powered by Keller Williams Realty.
How did you find out about Concord Young Professionals Network and what’s your favorite CYPN event? I found out about CYPN through social media! So far, my favorites have been the events at Lithermans Limited and Kimball Jenkins School of Art.
Tell us a few interesting facts about yourself: I have had many jobs … I used to be a line cook, a sea kayak guide, an ice cream truck driver, a founding teacher of a charter school, a farmer, and a waitress. All of these opportunities have laid the foundation to the depth of my current work in the limitless field of real estate.
What organizations are you involved with? I serve on the board of the Junior Service League of Concord, the Advocacy Committee for the New Hampshire Businesses for Social Responsibility and the Sustainability Committee for the New Hampshire Association of Realtors.
Favorite places to visit? I love to visit parks wherever I travel to. You can learn a lot about a culture and community by how they design and protect their parks and wild places.
What’s your favorite restaurant in Concord? Willows Plant-Based Eatery.
What’s your favorite place to go in Concord? I love all of Concord, seriously. I have a deep love for this city. Some of my favorite places are Phenix Hall (specifically At Om Yoga), Winant Park, Red River Theatres, our beautiful Main Street. And you can find me happily wandering the streets of the West End gawking at all the beautiful houses and celebrating them on my Instagram account dedicated to the @HomesofConcordNH! If you ever had the opportunity to be a buyer or seller of mine, you know how much I love a home tour.
What is one of your life goals? To launch and fund the next level of our businesses, which will also have a nonprofit component. It will be an entity that spearheads a mix of permaculture regenerative developments, community-based art and education initiatives, and affordable and energy-independent housing communities/projects, both locally and worldwide.
