The Friends of The Audi capped their 2017 annual meeting with the presentation of awards for volunteer service to the theater and the community to Betty Hoadley (right) and Judy Eliasberg (left). Hoadley was named Friend of The Year, recognizing her extraordinary leadership of the theater's Seat Restoration Project, which fund-raised over $100,000 and restored all 850 seats in six months. Eliasberg received the Golden Pineapple Award, which recognizes the quiet behind-the- scenes service which keeps the city theater affordable and accessible for everyone. She has served two terms as corporate secretary and is a regular volunteer presence at Audi shows. The golden pineapple, the Audi's symbol, is the traditional New England sign of welcome. The 2017 Business Appreciation Award was given to David Eckstein and Bartholomew Contract Interiors of Hartford, Conn. The Seat Restoration vendor, BCI completed the project on time and on budget, planning the work so the theater was never closed. The 2016 Business Award winner, Rich Woodfin of Charter Trust Company, was recognized for a second year in appreciation of his personal and corporate marketing assistance.
