Just about every week, we like to highlight one of the local art exhibits around these parts.
Concord is a big arts community with a collection of highly talented artists.
And let’s be perfectly honest, there’s no way you can hold a community-wide arts festival without the visual arts.
So on Saturday, there’s a few options for you.
Mill Brook GalleryThe gallery that doubles as an outdoor sculpture garden, opened this week with its first of two indoor shows for the year.
The New Painting & Indoor Sculpture Exhibit features the work of fine artists from around New England.
The gallery will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., so you can feel free to take your time and peruse the indoor exhibition space.
The exhibit will be on display through Aug. 27, and will run at the same time as the 20th annual outdoor sculpture exhibit, which opens May 26.
It’s not well-known as the place “where art and nature meet” for nothing.
McGowan Fine ArtTo coincide with the Capital Arts Fest, McGowan is replacing its traditional evening reception with a brunch reception for its latest exhibit, Color Play. The show features the work of Natalie Blake, Cathy Chin and Amy Goodwin (no relation to Tim), and is on display through June 2.
The brunch will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., but gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., so if you can’t make the reception, you can still check out the art.
League of N.H. CraftsmenThe League will open its doors for guided gallery tours of the current exhibit, Pushing the Limit, and the permanent collection, with its juried members from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fine craft demonstrations will also take place throughout the day.
Then from 5 to 7 p.m., to cap off the festivities, there will be a reception in the main gallery with light refreshments.
Positive Street Art
Positive Street Art will be doing a program in Eagle Square at 3 p.m.
The group’s mission is to inspire passion for urban arts in a productive way and to build stronger communities through workshops, events and artistic services.
