Now that the calendar has officially switched over to May, you’re going to start seeing a lot more things happening outside.

As you’ve probably heard, the Capital Arts Fest will turn Concord into a cultural destination this Saturday.

But that’s not the only thing that will make Concord abuzz. Saturday also just so happens to be opening day for the Concord Farmers Market. Yep, beginning this week and going all the way until the last weekend in October (on Saturdays), Capitol Street will once again be the spot for those seeking all kinds of great local products.

Outside of the fresh fruits and veggies that most associate with a farmers market, the weekly Concord rendition has more options than you probably think.

We’re talking about organic breads and baked goods, honey, meats and seafood, coffee, dairy products, plants, maple syrup, jams and jellies, stuff for the animals and much, much more. In all, there will be about 50 vendors on hand.

The market is held each Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, and could very well be your first stop before taking in all that the Capital Arts Fest has to offer.
