Now that the holidays are in the rearview mirror, you can finally get back to buying things for yourself.
And assuming you didn’t buy a new one during Black Friday or dip into your new TV fund to buy all those Christmas presents, you’re probably ready to grab that new flat-screen to totally change the way you watch your favorite programs.
If you’re like us, sports are an important part of your daily life, which means any chance you get, the local squads are on in your living room.
Well, we likely don’t have to tell you that the big game is coming up this Sunday, but what you might not know is that this is one of the best times of the year to buy a new TV.
So if that cash has been burning a hole in your pocket recently, you might want to think about grabbing that new TV. Just think how awesome your Super Bowl party will be with a new 50-, 55- or 65-inch mounted to the wall.
And while we do enjoy watching TV, we’re no experts. That’s why we decided to connect with Sean Cochrane, sales manager at the Concord Best Buy, to see what tips he could provide for you when it comes to that big purchase. hen you walk in the door, they want to know a few things first. What is your living room like? What size are you looking for? What is your budget? What will you be using it for the most?
“We want to know what’s important to you,” Cochrane said.
From there, they can help narrow down the options. When it comes to sports, Cochrane recommends a 4K model and HDR is the latest and greatest new toy. Make sure you get at least 120 Hz, which is the speed the picture refreshes and is quite important for the quick pace of a game.
“Just to make sure you get the clearest picture,” Cochrane said.
If your budget allows it, a screen of 50 inches or bigger is the way to go.
“It’s the new standard,” Cochrane said.
There are 60 models available for under $1,000 at Best Buy, and you can get a 50-inch TV for as little as $200.
“We have a bunch of options. It’s all about what works for you,” Cochrane said.
And if you happen to have an unlimited budget, there’s a 78-inch curved Samsung SUHD that will cost you just about $10,000.
At this time of year, especially with the Pats winning, TV sales are quite high and the prices are some of the best you’ll find all year.
If you buy one that’s 51 inches or bigger, they’ll even deliver it and set it up for you, whether you buy a new wall mount or put it on an entertainment center.
So if you’ve been wanting a new TV, don’t wait any longer. Your friends sure will appreciate it when watching the big game.
