Water meters to be replaced in phases
As part of an ongoing initiative to maintain and upgrade the city’s water meters, meter technicians will be visiting Concord water customers in phases to exchange water meter reading devices. Concord General Services’ utility billing office is actively completing this change out with water customers that have outdated devices.
The upgrade is at no cost to the customer, but is necessary to keep technology up to date to ensure accurate utility bill readings and to provide optimal customer service. If a customer is not around during a visit from a meter technician, a door tag will be left instructing the customer to call the utility office to make an appointment for the replacement.
The change out can be completed as quickly as five to 30 minutes, depending on meter conditions.
It may take a while for meter technicians to reach each customer in need of an exchange, so patience is appreciated as this upgrade will be completed in phases due to limited resources.
