This time of year can be tough for some.
While we attend family gatherings and holiday parties with friends, enjoying all the season has to offer, you can’t help but be reminded of the people you have lost.
And that’s normal around the holidays. So that’s why the Concord Regional VNA is here to help. Over the next week, the VNA will host a pair of community remembrance ceremonies to remember and reflect on the lives of passed loved ones.
There will be a ceremony on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Merrimack County Savings Bank, 89 N. Main St., and a second one on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant View Retirement, 227 Pleasant St.
Each ceremony begins with welcome messages from Beth Slepian, VNA President/CEO, and Laurie Farmer, vice president of hospice.
There will be a moment of sharing, as a family or volunteer share their experience with hospice, how it helps loved ones and their families during a difficult time.
A number of musicians, including some who are VNA volunteers, will play and a VNA spiritual counselor will lead a closing reflection on loved ones who have passed away.
If you need to talk with someone, bereavement resources will also be available.
Since 1996, Concord Regional VNA has partnered with the Greater Concord region to raise awareness about the care provided through its hospice program through the annual Hospice Lights of Life campaign.
Hundreds of community members honor their loved ones who have passed away by inscribing their names on the honor roll. Local businesses generously support the campaign by displaying lights in their windows, starting Thursday, to celebrate family and friends.
The Hospice Lights of Life Honor Roll is available for viewing at crvna.org and will be inserted in the Monitor on Dec. 13.
