It seems like every time the Concord Grange or the N.H. State Grange get together, we add a few shiny plaques to our trophy case – which is really just a shelf in the Insider pod. What? Free newspaper budgets are tight these days.
But the award shelf is getting a little cluttered now, especially since we just added three new pieces of hardware from the state get together a few weeks back.
The Grange, from the local Concord 322 chapter all the way to the northeast level, has been very good to the Insider. Over the last few years, we’ve dominated the media awards category and judging by how things have gone so far in 2016, it doesn’t look like anything is about to change anytime soon.
Not only did the Insider take home the top spot for small newspapers for the second year in a row, Tim and Jon also won individual awards. Tim’s was the media award and Jon’s for community service promotion. Sounds fancy.
And it’s not that big of a deal that Jon’s had the name “Jon Goodwin” instead of his actual last name of Bodell. It’s likely part of the initiation process to Grange awards since one of Tim’s last year read “Tim Griffin.”
Nevertheless, we sure do appreciate all the positive publicity. These three commendations make it a total of six given to the Insider in the last year from various Grange organizations. We always tell people just how great we are and this just backs up all of our self boasting.
Feel free to send any congratulations our way.
