That chill you’ve been feeling for the past week or so can only mean one thing: winter farmers market season is upon us. Either that or it’s time to finally put away the mesh tank top and gym shorts.
Starting this Saturday and running through April 22, Cole Gardens (430 Loudon Road) will host the winter market every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. If you’d been attending the outdoor market on Capitol Street all summer long, you’ll see a lot of the same people and products at Cole Gardens – it’s essentially the same market, just in a different, warmer location.
For the first market of the season, there will be 30 vendors on hand, including Miles Smith Farm, Red Fox Farm, the Mill Fudge Factory and more. For a full list of vendors for every market, check out to concordwintermarket.com.
This year, because of how the calendar shakes out, there will be no markets on Dec. 24 or Dec. 31, which are apparently big holidays or something. To make up for this, there will be one Friday market held Dec. 23 – so no, you won’t have to show up to Christmas dinner empty-handed.
If you’re a fan of local produce, there’s nothing better than a winter farmers market to keep you going through the cold, dark times that is winter in New Hampshire.
