If you’re looking for something different to do this weekend, might we suggest a little drive.

The annual N.H. Open Doors is being held Saturday and Sunday, and that means artists, galleries, agricultural attractions and food producers will in effect ‘open their doors’ for a sneak peek at what’s happening in their world.

And while this is a state-wide event that will more than keep you busy for two straight days, look no further than right here in Concord for your start.

The League of N.H. Craftsmen, which is presenting the annual weekend, is doing it up big for the weekend. The League headquarters, located at 49 S. Main St., Suite 100, has its final exhibit of the year, End of the Rainbow, on display, while juried members like Elena Wikstrom and Robert Dorr will have demos all weekend long in their disciplines of dry brush painting on fabric and embroidery, respectively.

The League’s fine craft gallery on North Main will have demonstrations by fiber artist Jennifer Diggs, who creates chickens and roosters – and this weekend you can see how.

Mill Brook Gallery and Sculpture Garden will have lots to check out. Between the outdoor sculpture garden and two floors of indoor exhibit spaces filled with paintings, pottery, jewelry, mobiles and indoor sculpture, there will surely be something for everyone to enjoy.

And Kristin Kennedy will open up her fine jewelry gallery, located at 30A Warren St., for visitors to check out her one-of-a-kind gold and silver jewelry pieces.

Now while we try to give you all the most up to date and accurate information, there’s a chance more local artists and galleries have been added to the list. So we’d encourage you to visit nhopendoors.com for all the latest.

Because once you’re done visiting all the places in Concord, maybe you can stray outside the city to see what else is being offered up this weekend.
