Mystery

Chief Inspector Armand Gamache is now the head of the Sûreté Academy. When a murder takes place at the school, Armand is part of the investigation, but is he also under suspicion? Armand takes four of the young cadets who were close to the murder victim to his beloved village of Three Pines. He gives them a task, to find out about a strange old map that might have a connection to the murder and also to Three Pines.

If you’ve read any of this series you will find all of the familiar faces of the villagers of Three Pines. Most of them are charming and charismatic. The writing is suspenseful and spellbinding, but I think it is the characters that draw me in most of all. They are people that you’d like to have as friends. And the village of Three Pines, there’s a community that takes care of each other. It’s a place you’d want to visit, and maybe even make a home for yourself there.
