Attention produce fans: Time is running out to hit up Concord’s outdoor farmers markets.
As you well know, Capitol Street in downtown Concord turns into one giant farmers market every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon, offering shoppers fresh fruits, veggies, baked goods, dog treats and more from about 40 vendors.
What you might not know is that the market is still going, but only for another week or so – the final day of this market will be Oct. 29, the last Saturday of the month.
There is also a farmers market at the Steeplegate Mall on Wednesdays from 3 to 7 p.m. Like the Capitol Street market, this one also ends at the end of October, in this case the 26th.
If you’re wondering about the Penacook Farmers Market, well, we have some bad news for you: it’s been done since the end of August. Sorry.
But just because the markets are calling it a season at their current locations, that doesn’t mean you can’t still get fresh produce during the colder months.
Starting Nov. 5, the Winter Farmers’ Market at Cole Gardens (430 Loudon Road) will be open through early April. This will be a similar market, just at a different location and a slightly different time – Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. You’ll find a lot of the same products – and people – you’ve grown to know and love at the outdoor and mall markets.
