Since it’s been so nice out lately, you’ve probably done some strolling around downtown. If you’ve gone out on a weekend morning, you may have even noticed or stopped by the Concord Farmers Market – which opened a few weeks early this year – and asked yourself, “Where’s the arts market?”
Don’t worry, it’s right around the corner.
Market season starts this Saturday, with the Concord Arts Market running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Bicentennial Square (where True Brew and Penuche’s are).
The arts market features all kinds of artistic things – crafts, fine arts, jewelry, handbags, clothing, home decorations and more. It’s really a showcase of all the artistic skill in and around the Capital Region, and a good chance for you to take home some cool, unique stuff.
The market, which is free and open to the public (and wheelchair accessible), will set up shop in the same spot every Saturday until Sept. 24. Parking is free on the weekends, and you can make a whole trip out of hitting up the arts market and the farmers market, which takes place simultaneously just two blocks away.
And it’s not just a shopping spree. There are often artistic demostrations and music playing in the general area, adding a nice ambiance to the whole thing.
The arts market will also be represented at Market Days, which is June 23-25. Look for its setup on Pleasant Street.
There is still space available for vendors at the arts market in some genres, so if you’re interested, contact the market directly for more information about participation at concordartsmarket.net.
