As you very well know, the Concord music scene is kind of a big deal. It even has its own Facebook page, which tells you just how much people enjoy some carefully crafted live tunes.
And while we like to think that there’s great live music to see just about any week – or night – in the ol’ Capital City, this week seems to have a lot going on when it comes to musicians on stage.
So we figured, why not give you a quick run down of what’s happening this week in the performing ranks. We like to be your source for all the important info in Concord – except when it comes to politics and crime.
We scoured Facebook pages, websites and calendars to see what we could find. And here’s what we were able to come up with. Enjoy!
Granite State of MindThis Wednesday at New England College Concord on North Main Street, the Listen Room Series continues with “Granite State of Mind” and the lethal combination of bluegrass, blues and old timey music, otherwise known as Etna Old Time.
Etna Old Time is made up of Marc Shapiro and Billy Corbett, and they’re promoting their new CD called Lo The Old Pine, an album jammed tight with banjos and mandolins and a level of harmonies that does not come around very often.
So if that interests you, head down to NEC at 7 p.m. for the free show and see what all the fuss is about. You won’t be disappointed.
Concord Community Music School
It’s a jam-packed week at the Concord Community Music School, so make sure to free some space on your calendar.

At the lounge, Shameless is on the schedule for Friday, while Stray Dog is going to be featured on Saturday.
