Rundown of live music
There’s always a lot of live music playing in Concord, and it can be hard to keep track of everything.
What do you think we’re here for?
Here’s a little sampling of who’s playing – and when – arranged by venue (in alphabetical order):
Hermanos Cocina Mexicana
Hermanos is featuring live jazz most of the week. Diversiry Duo is playing Tuesday, Mike Morris takes over Wednesday and Richard Gardzina will perform Thursday. All of those shows start at 6:30 p.m. On Saturday, it will be Joel Cage providing the soundtrack, starting at 7:30.
There’s never a cover for music at Hermanos.
Makris Lobster and Steak House
If you want music and shellfish, check out Brickyard Blues at Makris Lobster and Steak House on Friday at 8:30 p.m.
The band mixes influences including Texas and Chicago blues, Stax-era soul music and old-school R&B, with some roots and rockabilly thrown in.
No cover charge here.
Penuche’s
Ever heard of “groovegrass” music? Well, you can get real familiar with it when Jatoba takes the stage at Penuche’s on Saturday.
The Vermont band gets by on bluegrass/newgrass electronic sounding compositions and improvisations. Sounds intriguing.
Expect a cover of about $3.
True Brew Barista
True Brew has a packed weekend of music. On Friday, there’s When Particles Collide with Fiesty Pants. On Saturday, it’s Sisters in Song – an all-girls solo night featuring Delaney Pickering, Rachel Vogelzang Burlock, Sarah Blacker and Senayit Tomlinson.
Expect to pay a cover of anywhere from $3 to $15 (it varies by artist).
