So although we may be focusing on Easter in this issue, we haven’t forgotten that another big March holiday is right around the corner: St. Patrick’s Day.
Yes, it’s that one day a year when “everybody’s Irish.” It’s not really a gift-giving kind of holiday, but it’s certainly a fun one (especially if you’re at least 21 years old).
The holiday is Thursday, and a lot of places around town have some special events going on to celebrate.
As usual, we took care of all the heavy lifting for you, so you can just sit back and enjoy the fruits of our labor. You’re welcome!
CitySide Grille
One of the staples of St. Patrick’s Day is a traditional meal of corned beef and cabbage. Go into any grocery store right now and you’ll likely see the two items side by side, just begging to be bought as a pair.
If you don’t feel like cooking this year, though, CitySide Grille has got you covered. They’re going to have a corned beef and cabbage meal and a Guinness beef stew for St. Patrick’s Day. And this isn’t like the canned stuff you can get at the thrift shop. This meal will be prepared by two Irishmen, so you know it’ll be legit.

Concord Public Library
The library always has something up its sleeve, and St. Patrick’s Day is no different.
On Wednesday, the day before the holiday, head to the library at 3:30 p.m. for a St. Patrick’s Day craft.
Stop by and make something to bring on the “Luck o’ the Irish!”
Go to concordpubliclibrary.net for more information.
The Barley House
The Barley House is sort of considered Concord’s Irish bar. It would therefore be remiss if they didn’t have something going on during the most Irish holiday there is.
You can spend your lucky day at the Barley House by enjoying a special menu, promos, specialty drinks and more.
The restaurant is still kind of working out the exact details of the specials, but you can rest assured that there will be some. Check back in with the Barley House throughout the week at thebarleyhouse.com.
Tandy’s Top Shelf
Not to be outdone, Tandy’s is also throwing down for St. Paddy’s Day.
Tandy’s will open at 9 a.m., and will serve breakfast until 2. Food will be served all day – hash and cheese omelettes, three-leaf clovers, Irish soup, New England boiled dinner, Reuben on rye – all the classics. And, there will be some live Irish music to set the mood. They may even have a few drink specials.
Check back in with them at tandyspub.com.
True Brew Barista
For those of you who are still Irish after the Guinness and Jameson are gone, The Rebel Collective will be teaming up with the Celtic Beats for a “weekend after St. Paddy’s” show at True Brew Barista on Friday night.
Campbell Webster will play bagpipes and tin whistle, so you won’t want to miss it.
It all goes down starting at 9, so don’t be late!
Red Blazer
The Red Blazer will be serving its famous breakfast buffet from 7 to 11 a.m., with proceeds going to the Boys & Girls Club. $11.99 is all you need. Doesn’t sound like a bad deal.
