The Concord Library has a bunch of cool stuff starting this month.
Books & Brew will be held the first Wednesday of the month starting Sept. 2 at True Brew Barista. Join other book lovers in our new, low-pressure book club. Chat about what you’ve been reading, and listen to suggestions and recommendations from other readers. There are no assigned books in this group; just come and share your latest reads. We’ll talk books from 6 to 7 p.m., and mingle from 7 to 8 p.m. Library staff will be on hand to take notes and, will share the group’s recommendations in the library newsletter.
Coloring Nights will be first Tuesday of the month starting Sept. 8. Get in on the grown-up coloring craze at CPL. Color inside or outside the lines, with our supplies and coloring pages or your own. Just relax and enjoy some creative stress relief. On the Main Floor of the library near the French doors.
The book launch for New Hampshire Women Farmers will take place on Wednesday Sept. 9, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Meet author Helen Brody and photographer Leslie Tuttle as we celebrate the publication of their new book, New Hampshire Women Farmers: Pioneers of the Local Food Movement. The author and photographer will talk about the book and take audience questions. Farm work permitting, women featured in the book from Concord area farms will join us for the Q&A. Gibson’s will provide books for sale and signing!
And finally on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m learn how to research your historic property. All buildings in Concord are a part of our heritage, regardless of the age of the building or its use. To encourage appreciation and enhance the historic character of our built environment, Concord citizens are encouraged to research and document their building’s history! Join speaker Carol Brooks for an informative talk on how to do just that.
