On Saturday, Aug. 8, there will be a presentation entitled, Building Wells in Africa, with Paul Adams at Bow Mills UMC, 505 South St., Bow.
Adams resigned as a Department Director at the University of Illinois in order to do social work, primarily in Africa. He is sponsored by the Marian Medical Mission, a mission project of the Marian (Illinois) United Methodist Church. This mission has built over 10,000 pure water wells, each for a village, and Adams has built over 1,200 of them. These wells have been built in an area where mortality has been severely impacted due to impure drinking water. Hundreds of thousands of lives have been made secure through this mission. Be inspired by someone who is making a difference in the world.
