Each week, City Manager Tom Aspell grabs his floppy hat and khakiest ensemble before jumping in the canoe to go fishing for city memos. Luckily they were biting this week – hurry up and read though, Tom’s a catch-and-release kind of guy.
It’s just a phase
Super water awesomeness
The Water Treatment Division of the General Services Department has joined the American Water Works Association Partnership for Safe Water to enhance its commitment to providing water of the highest quality to the community, Aspell writes. And also to join the thing with the most words ever.
This is a voluntary four-phase program with established water quality guidelines higher than the minimum standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency. The city’s water treatment plant has officially been recognized as a Phase II facility, which includes annual data collection and reporting of baseline turbidity results to the AWWA. That’s totally turbular, dude.
The city’s goal is to reach Phase IV by 2019. Being a member of the AWWA Partnership for Safe Water ensures that the city is providing water of the highest possible quality and is ahead of federal regulations.
Thanks, y’all
Kindness and stuff
Concord Human Services received a surprise donation of food and new toys recently from Finders Keepers of Exeter, a store which sells “new, used and unusual” items and turns the proceeds from the sales into donations to community agencies, Aspell writes. Neighboring psychology business Losers Weepers contributed nothing.
It was a much appreciated donation for the pantry from this amazing organization that focuses on helping others.
