Audubon to host four day birding and nature tour

New Hampshire Audubon is hosting a four-day North Country Birding and Nature Tour for outdoor enthusiasts and avid birdwatchers alike. Participants will explore some of the state’s most fascinating landscapes with experienced guides who will highlight ecology and geography of northern New Hampshire. The excursion will depart from the McLane Audubon Center in Concord at 8 a.m. on Aug. 22 and return the evening of Aug. 25. Tour guides Bob Quinn, owner and guide of Merlin Wildlife Tours, and Phil Brown, Director of Land Management at N.H. Audubon will focus the tour on conservation and historical themes specific to N.H. Audubon. Attendees will visit the East Inlet and Connecticut River Headwaters in Pittsburg and will take a guided wildlife boat tour across Newfound Lake in Hebron. Other stops will include the Pondicherry Wildlife Refuge in Jefferson, Scotland Brook in Landaff, the Hebron Marsh and Paradise Point Wildlife Sanctuaries in Hebron, the Colebrook Grasslands and many places in between.

“We encourage anyone who wants to learn about N.H. Audubon’s conservation areas to join the North Country Birding and Nature Tour to experience first-hand the exceptional landscapes and wildlife this part of New England has to offer,” said Phil Brown, Director of Land Management at N.H. Audubon. “New Hampshire has an incredible variety of habitat types, and this tour is a wonderful opportunity to experience the range in birds and nature from one location to the next.”

Time is short for registering for this event, so please call or email today with your interest. The group size is limited to 10 participants, and the tour costs $899 for N.H. Audubon members and $999 for non-members. The price includes lodging and meals, transportation, event guides, special presentations and the pontoon boat tour on Newfound Lake.
