For Concord’s 250th anniversary, we are opening a 137-year old musical time capsule: the once-famous Port Royal Band books. In a Memorial Day weekend concert series featuring The Wildcat Regiment Band, this rousing music will fill and revitalize our streets again, as it did after the Civil War. Each event is unique, with different music all weekend. Five events, rain or shine, all free and family friendly!
On May 23, from noon to 1:30 p.m., there will be a Wildcat Regiment Band Concert at Riverside Park, Tanner Street, Penacook. (Rain venue Washington Street School.) At 3 p.m., you can meet the Wildcat Regiment Band at the Penacook Historical Society, 11 Penacook St., Penacook.
On May 24, from 7 to 9 p.m., there will be a Grand Concert by The Wildcat Regiment Band at the Concord City Auditorium, 2 Prince St. And on May 25 at 9 a.m., the Wildcat Regiment Band will give a special short performance at Old North Cemetery during Concord Memorial Day Parade to honor our veterans and service members.
