Gather ’round for Gathering Time, an award-winning folk trio headed to Temple Beth Jacob for a fundraising event April 11 at 7:30 p.m. Of course, you know we wouldn’t highlight an event that didn’t feature food, so you should probably know there will also be hors d’oeuvres and refreshments, as well as a silent auction (note: you can’t eat the silent auction).
Gathering Time features Hillary Foxsong, Stuart Markus and Gerry McKeveny and was voted best band runner-up and top folk band in the 2011 Long Island Press readers’ poll. According to press material from the temple, “Gathering Time is like a high-energy Peter, Paul & Mary or a co-ed Crosby, Stills & Nash, with various parts of The Byrds, Joni Mitchell, the Eagles and America mixed in.” That’s a recipe for great music. Either that or chocolate chip cookies.
Tickets are on sale now, and are $20/single; $35/couple; $50/family. Please send your check to Temple Beth Jacob, 67 Broadway, Concord, NH 03301, or stop by during office hours (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – call in advance at 228-8581).
The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, but doors open at 6:30.
