The New Hampshire Audubon announces “Spring on the Wing,” a jubilant celebration of a long-awaited new season, returning birds and outdoor fun. The family-friendly event, which features a host of hands-on activities for adults and children, will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 28 at the McLane Audubon Center, 84 Silk Farm Road in Concord.
Attendees of all ages will participate in indoor and outdoor activities, including various crafts, scavenger hunts, bird stories and live bird presentations. For a $5 material fee, participants can build a birdhouse to take home, complete with instructions on where to put it and optimal use.
Back by popular demand is a bird-themed, decorated cake contest, a great source of fun. Registration is required. Judges will award prizes in adult and children’s categories, as well as a People’s Choice award, voted by attendees. The cakes will be raffled off to enjoy at home.
Admission for Audubon members is $5 for inpiduals and $15 for families. Non-members are $8 and $25.
