Boys and Girls Club gets community funds

Over $46,000 was recently distributed to local community organizations through the Franklin Savings Bank Fund for Community Advancement program. Eleven organizations throughout Central New Hampshire are using the 2014 funds to implement new projects or to build upon current ones.

Recipients of the 2014 Fund for Community Advancement Funds include Boys and Girls Club of Greater Concord, Copper Cannon Camp, Paul Smith School PTO, Tapply-Thompson Community Center, Tilton-Northfield Recreation Council, NH Children’s Trust, American Red Cross of NH, The Friends Program Inc., Choose Franklin, Catholic Charities New Hampshire, and Franklin Falls Downtown Development Authority.

Organizations applying for the next round of grant distributions should do so by the Jan. 2 deadline.

Eligibility information including categories of support, market areas served, and applications are available by visiting “What’s New” at fsbnh.com or by visiting in person at any of the seven Franklin Savings Bank offices throughout Central New Hampshire. Projects chosen for funding will be celebrated at the third annual Fund for Community Advancement Event in October.

The one-million dollar fund, established by the bank in September 1997, was created to provide support to varying community organizations through grants. Since its inception, 156 grants totaling over $792,600 have been awarded.
