Concord 250 has selected Kim Murdoch of Murdoch Social Capital as project manager for the 2015 year-long celebration of Concord’s 250th anniversary.
A Concord native, Murdoch has served as executive director of Centennial Senior Center and interim executive director of Intown Concord. She is founder of the nonprofit Concord Public Safety Foundation, treasurer of Concord TV and a founding board member of the Rock On Foundation. Murdoch just completed her third year as walk manager for NAMIWalks NH, where she has helped raise more than $250,000, and second year as event manager for LakeFest: Raft-a-Palooza.
On Murdoch’s new role as project manager, Concord 250 founder and Board President Brent Todd remarked: “I’m very pleased the Concord 250 board has decided to endorse the project manager position, and I’m really looking forward to working with Kim. She’s a skilled professional who will greatly assist us with creating a successful celebration.”
Murdoch noted: “I am so grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Concord 250’s dedicated board and enthusiastic volunteers to craft a year-long celebration worthy of our City. There’s a role for everyone, young or older, lifelong resident or newer transplant, business or nonprofit, student or worker or retiree – this is a community celebration, and Concord 250 welcomes ideas and partnerships from all members of our community.”
The first official 2015 celebration of Concord’s 250 anniversary is the Cheers to 250 Years! New Year’s Eve Gala. Concord Family YMCA and Concord 250 are partnering on the event, which features live music, dancing, DJ, hourly historic programming, local celebrity hosts, a historic Concord gallery and much more. Information and tickets are available at concordymca.org/nyegala.
