Possibly the oldest continued Christmas Parade in the state is planned for Saturday, Nov. 22 at 9:30 a.m. on the Concord Heights.
The parade will begin formation at 8 a.m. for floats and 8:30 a.m. for all other parade entries. The theme is Christmas on the Farm in recognition of the Concord Grange, which is celebrating their 100th anniversary this year. The Grange has been one of the major sponsors and organizers for over 30 years.
The parade will feature floats, decorated vehicles, marching units, government dignitaries, Santa Claus, emergency response vehicles and more! The parade committee is looking for more high school bands to march, as to date we have Concord High, Bow High, Merrimack Valley High, Hillsboro-Deering High School bands. Joe Joyce from Boston’s NECN TV meteorologist and Kevin Scarupa from WMUR TV 9 will also be a part of the parade dignitaries.
The committee is looking for band sponsors or parade pision sponsors. Each sponsor will have a banner with their name on it preceding the band or pision. The parade route is from Hazen Drive to Loudon Road and then easterly to the Steeplegate Mall where it will disband.
Boys and girls are welcome to bring their letters for Santa to the parade as his elves will collect the letters to be given to him.
The formation is in the Department of Transportation parking lot off Hazen Drive.
