On Sept. 13, join cycling enthusiasts from around the state at the 9th annual Pedaling for Payson fundraising event to raise funds to support the Gene Gillis Fund at Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer Care.
The fund supports Payson Center patients in need with any out-of-pocket expenses associated with their treatment in hopes of improving their quality of life and perhaps eliminating one of the many uncertainties they face.
The event is being held at Elm Brook Park in Hopkinton and includes a variety of rides to choose from ranging from 30 to 77 mile rides, a casual 16-mile ride and new this year, a mountain bike ride. The routes will take cyclists through picturesque parts of New Hampshire and include rest stops featuring food and beverages. Upon completion of the ride, participants are invited to enjoy a barbecue lunch, refreshments and live entertainment at Elm Brook Park.
The event raffle will include a 7.2 FX road bike donated by S&W Sports, valued at $550, and a Mountainskyver donated by Orthovox, valued at $1,800.
Tickets are $5 each or three for $10. Only 750 tickets will be sold. The drawing will be held on Sept. 13 with all proceeds benefitting the Gene Gillis Fund. Ticket holders do not need to be present to win.
