This photo was taken during the great ivy attack of the mid-1900s, during which several Concord buildings were completely swallowed up by green leafy madness with a taste for brick. Urban legend has it that what we just said is completely fabricated. This is (spoiler alert) the Unitarian Church, but not the one we know today. This church was located on Capitol Street until fire, not man- or building-eating shrubbery, destroyed it. Thanks to reader Earl Burroughs for sending the photo along.
