Keith was a host on TV, and it (probably) wasn’t a complete disaster

Keith co-hosted an hour of Concord On Air, and the show didn’t crumble before everyone’s eyes! Above: Keith studies his list of upcoming segments while co-host Jessica Fogg does the same (you can see camera bits and a sleeve, too . . . what do you want, it’s live TV).

ConcordTV held its annual live Concord On Air broadcast for eight hours last Sunday, and somehow I was selected to co-host one of those hours (imagine how long the list of people who refused before they asked me was!) So did I sound good? That all depends on your definition of “good,” and whether or not you had the television on mute.

It was, of course, live TV, which presented several challenges, like the fact there were no do-overs. Thankfully I was paired with an experienced co-host and ConcordTV board member in the unflappable Jessica Fogg, so she kept things rolling smoothly.

Things I learned from the experience: I have no idea what camera to look at. Ever. Also, stretching live television using only words that come out of your mouth is difficult.

But I also learned it was fun, and I don’t think it was a complete and total disaster. Doris Ballard, who worked tirelessly to bring the show to everyone, didn’t tell me I was never allowed to return, so that’s something!
