Here are 10 reasons to go to the Local Energy Solutions Conference on April 12 in Tilton from the Concord Energy and Environment Committee:
1. Learn about the variety of energy challenges and opportunities that face New Hampshire cities and towns.
2. Find solutions to those energy challenges.
3. Find even more solutions to those energy challenges.
4. Hear from keynote speaker Lynn Benander about her work to help “relocalize” energy through community ownership and generation of sustainable energy projects. Imagine the freedom of communities making their own energy choices for a stronger future.
5. Our state’s energy experts will all be close at hand to help answer your energy questions.
6. Put your plans into action by attending work sessions where you can engage with experts with your inpidual questions.
7. Discussions include: Financing energy projects: The reality of funding public projects”; connecting with community members; energy action planning: making your community’s plan a reality; shedding light on group net metering and community solar; and heating buildings in your town with wood: chips, pellets and logs.
8. Get your “I can make a difference” batteries recharged by spending an afternoon with a group of motivated people that are looking to help their community, save money and make an impact.
9. Do you know what an air source heat pump is? Or a centrally-located, high-efficiency pellet boiler is? You will if you go to this conference.
10. By now you’ve probably exhausted House of Cards and you’re now looking for something new and exciting to do with the life you’ve pried back from the jaws of Netflix.
We hope to see you there!
