Why is Keith smiling so much? We’re not totally sure, but we have to assume it’s because he’s picturing hordes of people bidding thousands of dollars for his painting during the Locally Famous Art Auction as part of Intown Concord’s annual general meeting March 13.

Keith’s (brief) painting career has been prominently featured on the pages of the Insider, and probably shouldn’t be called a “career.” But he has created two (2) paintings, and soon enough he’ll be able to say he and former big league hurler Bob Tewksbury had paintings purchased at the same auction. Assuming someone bids on Keith’s work, that is.

Intown Concord will be holding its annual general meeting and Locally Famous Art Auction on March 13 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Carriage House at the Kimball-Jenkins Estate (266 N. Main St.) where attendees will have the opportunity to bid on paintings created by Keith, Tewksbury and a slew of other local celebrities, many of whom are actually artists.

Want details? We’ve got ‘em, courtesy of Liza Poinier at Intown Concord, in the form of the following information.

Attendees will have a chance to connect with fellow downtown Concord devotees, while being treated to delicious food from Common Man Concord, complimentary beverages, the jazz/swing stylings of local musician Kenny Weiland, and the presentation of the Community Impact Awards.

Additionally, Sarah Chaffee of McGowan Fine Art will be the auctioneer for Intown’s 3rd annual Locally Famous Art Auction. A matchless collection of paintings depicting Concord’s charm has been created especially for this event. Any Concord aficionado will want to grace their home or office with these one-of-a-kind pieces by Melissa Miller, Bob Tewksbury, Byron Carr, Byron Champlin, Saad Hindal, Keith Testa, Karina Kelley, and other local luminaries. Special thanks to Ryan Linehan and Lee Roy Johnson of Kimball-Jenkins School of Art for hosting our painters and offering instruction.

Tickets to the annual general meeting are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. For more information or to buy tickets online, go to intownconcord.org. Proceeds from the meeting directly support Intown Concord’s events, programs, and initiatives in downtown Concord.

During the gathering, Intown Concord will thank board members Andrew Hatch, Gena Cohen Moses, Jerry Kingwill, and Sue McCoo for their six years of board service each. The board of directors will officially welcome Polly Saltmarsh, Steve Duprey, Cheryl Coletti, and Greg Lessard as new members, and during the exceptionally brief “business” portion of the meeting, elect a new slate of officers.
Intown Concord’s annual general meeting is sponsored by Merrimack County Savings Bank, New Hampshire Federal Credit Union, Cobb Hill Construction, Inc., Zoe & Co. Professional Bra Fitters, Common Man Concord, McGowan Fine Art and Kimball-Jenkins School of Art. Additional sponsorships are available; please contact info@intownconcord.org.
