That dude who is just straight chillin’ is William J. Campbell, who settled in Concord with his bride, Edythe Devereaux Campbell, in the early 1900s. Thanks to his grandson, Richard Campbell Jr., for sending us this photo and some knowledge: This horse and cart could be spotted throughout the streets of Concord as William “peddled baked goods” to the citizens of Concord in the 1920s. Which begs the question – how did this stop being a thing? We would give anything if someone peddled some baked goods to us right now from some sort of mobile cart.
