N.H. Audubon turns 100 years old in 2014 and they are celebrating with a family-friendly Birthday Bash on Feb. 15 at the McLane Audubon Center in Concord.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be ongoing activities, including a thematic birthday cake contest, live bird presentations, snowshoe hikes on the trails, crafts related to birds, storytelling, a puppet show and a sing-along, cupcake decorating and more.
The event is free but lunch, refreshments and raffle tickets will be for sale.
The decorated cake contest is open to adults and families. Prizes (including gift certificates to King Arthur Flour and Chandler’s Cake and Candy) will be awarded to cakes that best depict the Audubon theme of protecting birds and wildlife.
Pre-registration is required by Feb. 8. A $10 entry fee is waived if the cake is donated to the raffle.
Details and a registration form are available on the N.H. Audubon website nhaudubon.org/about/centennial/activities/100th-birthday-decorated-cake-contest.
Cakes will be on display from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and raffled to the winning ticket holders.
