The Women’s Fund of New Hampshire has partnered with Worth Co. to donate more than 50 items of women’s professional work clothing to OutFITters Thrift Store in Concord. The intention is to put high-quality, professional clothing in the hands of women who are in need of business or interview attire but may not be able to afford department store price tags. The clothing that OutFITters has received will be available at an affordable price or by FIT voucher to the shoppers at the store and to the women who benefit from Families in Transition’s programs.
OutFITters Thrift Store is a revenue stream for Families in Transition, with 100 percent of store proceeds benefiting the agency. FIT, a nonprofit organization based in Manchester, was founded in 1991 in response to the growing number of homeless inpiduals and families in the greater Manchester area and throughout the state. Since its inception, FIT has been committed to providing only the most innovative, comprehensive, and effective interventions specifically designed to help homeless inpiduals and families reach beyond the cycle of homelessness to lead healthy and successful lives. The newly expanded OutFITters Thrift Store Boutique specializes in new and gently-used upscale clothing and housewares for the whole family. Additionally, participants at Families in Transition are given vouchers to the store upon entering FIT housing so that they can purchase basic living necessities.
The clothing comes from a partnership between Worth Company and the Women’s Fund of New Hampshire. This partnership was made possible through Benedicte Henrotte of Lebanon, who is the executive wardrobe consultant and owner of the Upper Valley Worth New York and W by Worth agencies. Henrotte is the only consultant in New Hampshire and Vermont and wanted a way to give back to women as they re-enter or advance their career opportunities.
The Women’s Fund is a statewide foundation that fuels positive change in our communities by supporting the most innovative and promising solutions to the issues facing women and girls today. The Women’s Fund has a long history of connecting the state’s many resources to the people who will most benefit from them.
“We are thrilled to be a part of this program and to give back to the women of this community,” said Marianne Jones, executive director of the Women’s Fund. “We are grateful that Worth is making it possible to put professional clothing into the hands of women who would benefit.”
Worth is a New York City-based, multi-million dollar company built on one simple idea: providing intrinsic value through their luxury clothing brands, Worth New York and W by Worth. Worth is a company of women who relate to and care about one another on every level – personal and professional – which is why they have several programs in place to help those in need. They plan to donate hundreds of pieces of clothing nationwide each year, and they reserve the sample trunks to use for charity events.
