The N.H. State Council on the Arts is offering a grant writing workshop focusing on arts learning for youth on Jan. 8, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Kimball Jenkins School of Art.
The State Arts Council offers two distinct grants that focus on reaching young people and students: Arts in Residency grants support artist residencies in schools with students K-12; Youth Arts Projects grants fund projects for out of school arts learning.
There is no charge to attend the workshop, which is open to teachers, artists, PTO/PTA leaders, parents, arts organizations and community arts leaders with an interest in grant writing and the arts in education or youth development.
It will be led by Catherine O’Brian, State Arts Council arts education coordinator, and will cover grant criteria, guidelines and basics of preparing a successful grant application from project idea and program design to budgets and evaluation.
The 2014 Artist Residency in School grants support projects taking place between July 1, 2014, and June 30, 2015. The postmark deadline is April 11, 2014.
