The New Hampshire Developmental Disabilities Council will be holding its annual holiday gathering at the Concord Holiday Inn, 172 N. Main St., on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Governor Maggie Hassan will be in attendance this year and will arrive shortly before 12:30 p.m. to take pictures and give a speech.
At the gathering, the council also recognizes and honors those legislators who have made an outstanding contribution to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities this past legislative session.
This year, those legislators are Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter and Congresswoman Ann McLane Kuster, who unfortunately cannot attend, but will accept their awards via a prerecorded video to be shown at the event.
The event also honors Advocate of the Year, Bonnie Dunham, from Merrimack, as well as the winners of our Count Me In! video contest: Sarah and Eliza Cooley of Concord, Adam Whittier of Sunapee, and the Hampstead Middle School “Our World Club.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information about the Council, visit nhcdd.org.
