After several months of working together with Rep. Candace Bouchard and Manchester’s Sen. David Boutin, we were finally successful in creating a bus service between Concord and the Manchester Airport. It started on July 1 and the reception has been positive.
This past Friday, I was happy to be able to connect to this great new weekday service as I was on my way to an out-state family wedding.
It was easy enough to find a time that worked for me. The earliest bus starts at 3:30 a.m. from Concord and the last airport run picks up at 12:15 a.m., all correlating to flight times.
There are 12 daily trips between the bus station on Stickney Avenue in Concord and the Manchester Airport. Amazingly, it only costs $4 for a daily pass.
Now, instead of leaning on a friend or family member to drive you down to Manchester Airport, you can take the bus.
While this bus service is an one-year pilot program, if the ridership is strong and there’s continued interest, I’ll be working with state officials to make this a seamless transition between the pilot program and a permanent service supported by federal traffic-mitigation funds.
So whether you are heading off to the Manchester Airport, or maybe just need a ride to downtown Manchester, check the schedule link here and take the MTA bus down.
